Configuring SMS alerting

In addition to Email and Pagerduty notifications, Stackdriver also supports SMS alerting. All messages are sent from +1-617-229-6940. Standard messaging rates from your carrier may apply. Follow the steps below to get started.

 
  1. Click Account in the navigation bar and then Account Settings from the drop-down.

 
  1. Under Profile, you will see Phone Numbers. Click the Add button on the right.
     

 
  1. A form will pop up that says Add a Contact Number. Enter your phone number and click Save.
     

 
  1. You should receive a message from +1-617-229-6940 with a 5-digit verification code. (If you don’t receive your code after a few minutes, click Resend Code.)

 
  1. Enter your code and click Verify.
     

       

 
  1. If successful, you will see a confirmation at the top of your screen.

     


Now, when you create a policy you will see an option to alert via SMS.

1. Under notifications on the create an alert screen, Select SMS and click add.


 
2.  You can set up the policy to alert an individual user or slide the bar to select a team.  Choose the individual or team you would like to notify.
